We are carrying out a survey of the parking regulations in the
City of Edinburgh
between now and Christmas. We need six people to supplement our team.
Type of work
The work involves positioning, measuring and recording all the parking regulations
in the City, i.e., the lines and bays on the road.
We will use mobile survey equipment and satellite positioning to record the regulations against a back drop of large scale mapping of the area.

There are more than 1,600 kms of road in Edinburgh, so there is a
large amount to survey. Each person will work 39 per week over the period.
Type of person

You should have, or be working towards, a relevant degree (civil engineering,
geomatics, geography or similar).

Some experience of land surveying or map production is required.

You will use mobile survey equipment and satellite positioning to record the
regulations against a back drop of large scale mapping of the area. Some
experience with surveying equipment is desirable, although full training will be
provided.

You will also need to be able to work alone, be methodical, and committed to
collecting accurate data. You will also need to be fit as the work will be
conducted on foot. You will need to be able to walk around 8km during a shift.
Pay and Conditions
- Pro-rata salary of £19,773 (includes paid holiday)
- Discretionary bonus of up to £500 (conditions apply)
We will pay staff fortnightly by BACS transfer for work conducted within the
previous period.us period.
